New Growth at Green Wave 🌱

Fresh collaborations, free plants, and more ways to connect with nature.

October 18, 2026

There are plenty of things growing at Green Wave, including our collection of unfinished articles! Some date all the way back to 2021, and one of our goals before December is to finally get these stories, ideas, and resources online.

Meanwhile, some exciting new projects are taking root at Green Wave House, including collaborations with Permaculture Pinup and Amigos de los Árboles.

Giving Native Trees a New Home 🌳

On October 22, we’ll welcome one of the founders and organizers of Amigos de los Árboles for a walk through our food jungle and a little tree-rescue mission!

Our property is overflowing with naturally sprouting tree seedlings, including several varieties that appear to be native. Three species are particularly abundant. One we know as María, while others have stubbornly resisted identification, even with the help of plant identification apps. Until we find their proper names, we may have to get creative. One has already been nominated “Shirley,” in honor of our collaborator!

The idea is to identify suitable seedlings, carefully relocate some, and explore opportunities to establish small native-tree nurseries that can support future reforestation projects.

Green Wave Gratis: A Pop-Up Vivero!

We’re also dreaming up a free community plant giveaway at Green Wave House.

Rather than operating a traditional nursery, we envision occasional pop-up events featuring available seedlings, cuttings, and other plants from our food forest. We’ll share an inventory ahead of each giveaway so neighbors can discover what’s available.

Eventually, we’d love to offer thoughtfully assembled permaculture plant guilds: little communities of plants chosen to grow well together. A little propagation, a little sharing, and a lot more green in our community!

Permaculture Pinup Experiences 🌺

Another program in development is a series of private permaculture experiences through Permaculture Pinup. Guests will explore our food jungle, discover permaculture concepts in action, enjoy nature-inspired photo opportunities, and take home a special gift. It’s an opportunity to learn, play, and connect with the living landscape.

Stay tuned! We’re excited to see how these little ideas grow, and even more excited to share them with our community.
