Permaculture Pinup is a nonprofit creative campaign proudly housed under the umbrella of Green Wave Enterprises. While it stands out with its playful aesthetic and unexpected blend of vintage glamor and ecological advocacy, its roots are grounded in the same mission that has guided Green Wave since its founding in 2006: inspired service to Earth and community.
The idea emerged not from a boardroom but from a garden. After relocating to Costa Rica, Green Wave’s founder Jivana began developing the Green Wave House alongside her husband Ken Jordan, of the legendary electronic music group The Crystal Method. As they built gardens and cultivated a food forest, Jivana found herself immersed in daily outdoor work—a far cry from the performance art and rave culture that had once shaped her creative world.
But nature had something to say. “The plants started styling me,” she laughs. “Balsa and breadfruit leaves looked like burlesque fans. Vines felt like hair-extensions. It was like the jungle wanted to play dress-up with me.”
What began as a light-hearted conversation with a performer friend turned into a joyful, unexpected movement. Permaculture Pinup was born as a way to reconnect with the Earth through creativity, costume, and community education.
While Green Wave’s projects span a wide range—from fiscal sponsorships to climate action initiatives—Permaculture Pinup reflects the deeply personal side of this work. It is where Jivana’s performance background meets her love of the land, creating a gateway for others—especially all womyxn and girls—to see themselves as powerful stewards of the Earth.
In this way, Permaculture Pinup is not just a campaign; it’s an invitation. To laugh. To learn. And to love the Earth while feeling fabulous doing it.
